Onward & Upward - New League for ECFC in 2021

Edgewater Castle FC announces acceptance into Midwest Premier League for 2021 season as well as several staff additions 

Edgewater Castle Football Club (ECFC) will join the newly minted Midwest Premier League (MWPL) for the 2021 Season. "The club has done an amazing job keeping momentum and keeping health and safety as our two main guideposts this year. As a result we are truly fortunate to be in this position at every level of the club and thrilled to join the Midwest Premier League next season" says General Manager & Co-Founder Andrew Swanson. "While we are thrilled to carry our values and mission with us throughout the Midwest next season, we will also continue to invest in creating more and more access to the game throughout our community and the City of Chicago." Edgewater Castle FC will join Illinois clubs RWB Adria, Dekalb County United, Rockford FC & FC Diablos, as well as clubs from Iowa & Michigan. 

The club also announces 3 additions to the administrative staff - Isa Arciniegas, Nabila Della Ahmed & Robert Turpin join the club as Director of Community & Cultural Affairs, Marketing Director & Sporting Director, respectively. 

Isa Arciniegas (She / Her) - Director of Community & Cultural Affairs - Isa joins ECFC as a fan of the club since it's early days, a lifelong student of the game and an experienced Chicago artist. Isa will manage all collaborative projects between Edgewater Castle FC and the community members, community organizations, small businesses, artists and everyone in between that we are lucky enough to work with. Her work will help the club connect more fully and more intentionally with our community and our city in 2021 & beyond. 

Nabila Della Ahmed (She / Her) - Marketing Director - Nabila's experience in the many facets of the Edgewater community will be an asset to ECFC's storytelling efforts in the coming year. Through her eight years working with Asian Human Services in restorative justice and advocacy around Chicago, Nabila has a deep respect for the people of this city and is excited to help tell the beautiful story of Edgewater Castle Football Club. 

Robert Turpin (He / Him) - Sporting Director -. Following his collegiate career at University of Michigan where he captained for 2 seasons, he began his now 10 + year coaching career. He is currently the Founder and owner of Total Soccer Training in Chicago. Prior to TST, he was the Director of Coaching at Northwind Soccer Club and also served as a travel coach at Chicago City Soccer Club and Pegasus Soccer Club. Additionally, he spent time as an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at DePaul University. He is excited to join Edgewater Castle FC in this important role and help grow the club to serve more passionate, dedicated and talented players throughout the city of Chicago. 

These three new additions join Andrew Swanson & Mike Hamilton, ECFC's General Manager & Club Manager, respectively. Co-Founder James Kitia will move from his co-founding role as Director of Soccer Operations to serve as ECFC's Head Scout. ECFC's Coaching Staff remains fully in tact, with Wojciech Piotrowski serving as Head Coach, Stockton Mayer serving as Goalkeeping Coach and Joseph Lovric serving as Assistant Coach.
